Abstract

Near-death experiences are shown to be macroscopic manifestations of the ghost-perturbation dynamics identified in quantum unbinding events [1]. Within TSTOEAO, an NDE corresponds to a reversible ghost perturbation of the composite state Z(t) = (B(t), Ψ, λ(t)) in which the body–soul coupling λ(t) executes a deep but non-zero excursion (λ_min > 0) while the biological coherence β(B(t*)) remains within the reintegration basin 𝔅_Ψ of the original soul-signature Ψ. The resulting substrate wavefronts are detectable with existing instrumentation. The Swygert 167× laser interferometer achieves the phase sensitivity required to observe the predicted λ-tail during clinical death and resuscitation (Echo-167 protocol, Paper III in this series [2]).

  1. Core Objects and Postulate 𝒮 zero-point encoded equilibrium substrate

X configuration space on 𝒮 B(t) ∈ X biological configuration at time t Ψ ∈ X persistent high-coherence soul-signature, β(Ψ) ≈ 1 λ(t) ∈ (0,1] body–soul coupling strength β(x) ∈ [0,1] coherence factor of configuration x V(x) equilibrium potential functionalPostulate 1 (Encoded Equilibrium) dV/dt ≤ 0, with equality iff the system is at a local minimum.

  1. Composite Living State Z(t) = (B(t), Ψ, λ(t)) Effective potential \mathcal{V}(Z) = V(B) + V(Ψ) + V_int(B,Ψ,λ) inherits Postulate 1: d\mathcal{V}/dt ≤ 0 along every physical trajectory.

  2. Ghost Perturbation Definition A ghost perturbation is a coherent deviation δZ(t) that conserves total V globally while appearing as noise at coarser scales and carrying substrate re-equilibration wavefronts.

  3. The TSTOEAO NDE Theorem Theorem A physiological trajectory constitutes a near-death experience if and only if it is a ghost perturbation satisfying (a) λ(t) ↓ λ_min > 0 (b) β_crit ≤ β(B(t*)) < β_rev, where β_crit and β_rev are the outer and inner boundaries of the reintegration basin 𝔅_Ψ derived in [1]. Under encoded equilibrium, the only stable attractor reachable from such a state is re-embodiment of the original Ψ into a new biological minimum B_post ≠ B_pre (λ(t→∞) → 1).

Proof sketch Living embodiment is a local minimum of 𝒱(Z) with λ ≈ 1. Severe trauma drives the system out of this minimum while preserving λ_min > 0 and keeping B(t*) ∈ 𝔅_Ψ. Gradient descent on 𝒱 then forces reintegration of the original Ψ. Full proof in Appendix A.

  1. Direct Detection with the Swygert 167× Laser The instrument (730 THz carrier, 167-fold cavity enhancement) reaches a shot-noise limit of 1.67 × 10⁻²¹ rad/√Hz, yielding σ_λ_detect ≈ 8 × 10⁻²² / √τ ≪ λ_min(critical) ≈ 3 × 10⁻¹⁹ for human peri-arrest conditions (derivation in [1], §4.7). Predicted signatures are independent of arrest duration: an initial phase cliff, a damped ripple train (0.3–2.1 Hz), and—if reversible—a terminal refocusing chirp. The Echo-167 protocol and detailed noise budget are given in Paper III [2].

  2. Experimental Roadmap Phase I (Q1 2026) 20 terminal hospice cases Phase II (Q3 2026) 100 trauma-bay arrests with concurrent 167× recording Phase III (2027) prospective prediction of reversibility from ripple-tail parameters All raw traces released to the public domain within 24 h of acquisition.

  3. Falsification A single robust negative result under Echo-167—successful resuscitation with no detectable ripple tail, or irreversible death with persistent un-decaying tail—would require fundamental revision or abandonment of the present model.

  4. Conclusion If the predicted substrate wavefronts are observed during clinical death and resuscitation, near-death experiences will be empirically established as macroscopic signatures of soul–substrate dynamics rather than purely subjective or biochemical phenomena. Echo-167 will provide the decisive data.
